Ring of Iron

This is just a fantastic teaser of our first wedding of the season! New Glasgow is quiet the little spot and we have a lot of photos to show! Watch for next week when we post a iron pot load more.
Tracie + Scott VS the Blue Nose Marathon

The weather this past weekend was absolutely phenomenal! Perfect weather for a engagement shoot … with one exception! The Blue Nose Marathon. Being the great little team of creative collaborators we are though we found some amazing places well away from the crowds and as you can see took some pretty amazing photos! Enjoy!

Epic Cake!
So this past Saturday was my big 30th Birthday, it was a great day of a few small errands, Farmers Market and shopping. It is a strange feeling getting older and reaching milestones such as this. I am told though 30 is the new 20 and you will feel great, and can’t take guff from anyone anymore, you’re the new boss; I think I’ll like that part. That evening we had a small party with friends over with an insane amount of food, cupcakes and drinks. Yes cupcakes get their own mention. Karen also made me my very own cake! Check out the photos below.
Hollie and Chris sitting under a tree!
When you are a kid your mother yells at you not to play in the mud or get your self messy before photos. Now we didn’t go out throw mud at one another, but this field was none the less a huge smelly mess! We were even visited by a Ground Hog. Anyway fun times of course…
New York, New York!
A few weeks ago I piled into a tiny car at about 4 in the morning with three of the coolest guys I know. We sped off down the highway in hopes for big lights and the city that never sleeps. Well I am going to let you in on a little secret, New York sleeps like any other city. 14 hours later we found our selves deep in Brooklyn under ground with no place to stay and no idea what to do next. So as responsible adults we crashed at a hotel outside of town and left all the decisions up to the next morning. The following photos are an outline of that trip! Enjoy!

Eye of the profesional

It’s funny how photography can work. Your hired as a professional photographer for your expertise, skill, equipment and a variety of other things. Some time you utilize all of those and other times you do not, it all depends on the shoot really.
We were hired a while back to do a CD for a local musician and the above photo is what I had in my head after we sat down and discussed the details. The shoot went amazing and everyone was happy.
A few days later we got together to go over the photos and in the end the client choose a photo none of us expected. Normally we take the outtakes out and just show processed final images for selection. We had accidentally left one photo of a photographer taking a photo of the client during the shoot in the pile. this of course is the one she choose.
It’s funny how photography works some times.
Rainy Day Engagement!

Rain or no rain we were getting the job done! I’ve been away in New York City for the past week and came home to an e-mail from Shannon asking if we could get their engagement photos done. With just a little over a month away from their wedding we needed to move fast! Rain and snow where no match for my camera and their cuteness. Engagement are always a blast for us, we get to know the couple better and they get to know us of course. Watch over the next few months for some amazing engagement shoots…less in the rain we hope.

Case of the Mondays!
I got up this morning and (as usual) all I could think was “bummer another week full of work and rushing around” when I mentioned this to a friend I was very quickly corrected…“beginnings are always beautiful” she said to me and you know what? She is right.
If we never set out to do anything we would live very very boring lives! Each week, like each day is just a new adventure and the outlook we take on it will have an impact on how each journey starts and progresses.
When I woke up it was a sunny day, I had food, drink, shelter and a wonderful person at my side. What right do I have to have a case of the Mondays? To everyone out there who is where I was this morning…pull yourselves together and get your day back on track your outlook is always bright if you keep a spring in your step. One good day leads to two and two good days leads to a good week…
Happy Monday everyone! This week is going to be wonderful!
